چکیده

Abstract This paper is a survey focuses on seven basic Voting Methods for Preferential Ballots. The purpose to give pellucid illustration of these in consideration Game Theory, and understand their intrinsic associative properties. In order efficacy, multiple techniques, such as Mathematical Modeling Computer Programming, are used evaluation comparison. ultimate goal find which elect the most democratic winner.

An Optimal Single-Winner Preferential Voting System Based on Game Theory∗

We present an optimal single-winner preferential voting system, called the “GT method” because of its interesting use of symmetric two-person zero-sum game theory to determine the winner. Game theory is not used to describe voting as a multi-player game between voters, but rather to define when one voting system is better than another one. The cast ballots determine the payoff matrix, and optim...

The Vector-Ballot e-Voting Approach

Looking at current cryptographic-based e-voting protocols, one can distinguish three basic design paradigms (or approaches): (a) Mix-Networks based, (b) Homomorphic Encryption based, and (c) Blind Signatures based. Each of the three possesses different advantages and disadvantages w.r.t. the basic properties of (i) efficient tallying, (ii) universal verifiability, and (iii) allowing write-in ba...

Byzantine Preferential Voting

In the Byzantine agreement problem, n nodes with possibly different input values aim to reach agreement on a common value in the presence of t < n/3 Byzantine nodes which represent arbitrary failures in the system. This paper introduces a generalization of Byzantine agreement, where the input values of the nodes are preference rankings of three or more candidates. We show that consensus on pref...

Voting Technology, Ballot Measures and Residual Votes

An increasing number of public policy issues are decided by ballot measures in the United States. We examine residual votes (the difference between the total ballots cast and the votes cast in a particular contest) on ballot issues and the presidential contest in 34 states that had issues on the ballot in the 2004 election. Residual vote levels for ballot issues are substantially higher and mor...

Ballot Order Effects Under Compulsory Voting*

Australia was one of the first countries to introduce random ballot ordering, and is one of the few democracies to make voting compulsory. Using all federal election results since the introduction of random ballot ordering in 1984, we estimate the magnitude and correlates of the ballot position effect in Australia. We find that being placed first on the ballot increases a candidate’s voteshare ...
